Even Money- Smart People Make Bad Financial Decisions

For many years I had a “no credit-card” policy.  I lived on a cash-only basis and avoided debt.  Then I got married and we had a baby.   Before we knew it we had a car payment, mortgage, and three credit cards, all maxed out.  It seemed that bills piled up faster than we could pay them, so we paid them with plastic.  Two years ago my husband got laid off and we couldn’t even make minimum payments.  We finally admitted we needed debt help and found an agency which worked with us.  We are now repaying our credit cards in one monthly payment.  In three years we’ll be debt free and will be making much smarter financial decisions in the future.
