Advance Prostate Cancer Statistics

Among men in the United States, prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related death and is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in American males as well. Most prostate cancer–related deaths are due to advanced disease or advance prostate cancer. Recent continuous advances have provided a new understanding of the diagnosis, the staging, and treatment of metastatic and advanced prostate cancer. The previous definition of advanced prostate cancer where the disease start affecting the bone metastasis and soft-tissue has been improved in recent years. Accumulating evidence is showing that, owing to early diagnosis and treatment, the mortality rate associated with prostate cancer has steadily declined since the 1970s.
