My First Year On The Grants Committee
I work for a grants foundation and this year I was asked to be on the committee to decide who receives grants. It was a hard thing for me to do because I think every worthy cause should receive the funding that they need. My first project was the mental health dissertation research grants. The organization was giving away five grants in this area. It was my job to read through the proposals with the other members of the committee and decide if the grant makes sense for that particular program. I think the hardest part of the whole thing was having to inform those who loss the grant that they didn’t qualify.
