Americans with Disabilites Act Requires Access for All

With the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act all public buildings are required to be accessible to persons with handicaps.  This means that ramps, elevators, stair lifts, and wheel chair lifts were installed inside and outside of buildings to allow people confined to wheel chairs to enter and move easily about the buildings.  Curbs and steps have always been a challenge to wheel chairs, but now with ramps and wheel chair lifts they can easily maneuver around these obstacles.  Many of today’s wheel chairs are motorized which also makes moving about much easier.  How frustrating it must have been to need to do business somewhere and not be able to enter the building or reach the floor where you need to go.  Now all people with disabilities have access to any building they wish to enter.
